General scheme
The Specific Training Support Initiative scheme of Europole Mer aims at supporting local initiatives with an international dimension to organise workshops and intensive training courses on given themes and specialised topics. By addressing a public of both PhD students and researchers on specialised topics, expected outcomes for the Europole Mer scientific community of such activities are:

  • To fulfil its commitment to training activities at a postgraduate level (see statement of objectives)
  • To enhance collaboration between Europole Mer partners through practical courses (handson practice, get-to-know factor, generate opportunities to meet and work with colleagues on very specific topics)
  • To enhance interactions between students and researchers within the Europôle Mer
  • To provide the Europole Mer community with an exchange platform with international partners on their “niche” topics.

Budget

  • Financial support from Europole Mer is up to 2000 € per program.
  • Total budget of scheme is 16 000 € per year as a general guideline, but actual budget available per year will depend on number and quality of requests.

Selection criteria

  • Program includes transverse activity between 2 or more Europole Mer research areas and is endorsed by minimum 2 axes of the Europole Mer - Scientific quality of program content, scientifically relevant to some part of the Europole Mer community
  • Multi-partner program and local integration impact upon Europole Mer members
  • Co-funded program
  • International partners or participants involved

Application and selection process

  • Submit proposal to severine.thomas<@>univ-brest.fr by the 20th of January 2010. Selection will be done by the Bureau members of the GIS Europole Mer by mid-February 2010.
