Human activities in coastal sea: conflicts and impacts. A modeling approach applied to the bay of Brest

This project concerns the progress in time and space of human activities through an Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) process. The approach aims to highlight possible conflicts between activities and to assess intensity of anthropogenic activities on marine benthic habitats. The bay of Brest has been
chosen as experimental site because of its physical and anthropological characteristics.

At first, description of the spatiotemporal pattern of human activities will be realized. These social data associated with environmental data will be integrated into a Geographic Information System (GIS) coupled with a simulation platform. Prototype will be used with local stakeholders to support different scenarios simulating future plausible situations in a frame of concertation process.
