Uses of resources and oceans are affected by “the double exposure” (O’Brien and Leichenko (2000)), that is altogether climate changes and economic globalization. In this session, we will study several open issues questions that arise in this perspective. How will evolve the spatial structure of populations affected by global warming and the communities of commercial fish? How will it impact the fisheries? What will be the effects of acidification of oceans on several exploited species (shells, fish, crustaceans) which are more or less dependent of calcium? How worldwide climatic events will induce modifications on forage fish and then on fishmeal and fishoil market impacting the aquaculture development? What will be the consequences of climate change on marine transports?
Plenary session
Three plenary sessions on the morning
Fabian Blanchard (Guyana): Impact of climate change on fish communities and fishing activities. Two cases study in temperate and tropical systems: the continental shelf of the Bay of Biscay and the French Guyana.
Patrick White (Norway): Vulnerability and adaptation to climate change for aquaculture and inland fisheries in the coastal zone.
Anne Gallais-Bouchet (France): Maritime transport & climate change: effects, reciprocity and improvements mobilization.
